CD PROJEKT RED, founded in 2002 and based in Warsaw, Kraków, and Wroclaw, Poland, grew out of video game passion. Micha Kiciski and Marcin Iwiski founded the gaming studio, pioneering video game distribution in Poland in 90s. 

Following the success of the first installment The Witcher, the studio decided to take the company to a new level.

As one of the most critically acclaimed role-playing games in the genre’s recent history, The Witcher 2 arrived on PC and Xbox 360 in 2011. Started out as a small RPG studio, the company has now grown to over 800 staff members worldwide
